Introduction to Clay with Dawn Ingram Location: Cape Coral Art Center Designed for the beginning student, this class will explore hand building techniques, pinch, slab and coil, while also introducing the mechanical process of throwing on the wheel. Students will also learn the basics of how to finish their work through glazes and various firing methods. Advanced students are also welcome. Hand Building Ceramics with Ann Cooper Location: Cape Coral Art Center Learn the basics of hand-built pottery. Students will use hand building techniques including pinch pots, coil building and slab construction to create unique functional and sculptural pieces. Experimentation with color, texture and pattern is highly encour aged. A variety of surface decoration techniques are introduced in addition to glazing. Experienced ceramic students wishing to pursue independent practice to enhance their skills or add to their body of work are welcome. Raku is not available in this course. Each week introduces fresh themes and methods that build upon previous lessons, allowing students to deepen their understanding, refine their craftsmanship, and develop their unique artistic voice through form and texture. Known for its beautiful luster, unusual colors, and free form designs obtained during the firing process. No class on Friday, 7/3/2026.
