Youth Center Sunrisers Location: William “Bill” Austen Youth Center The Youth Center is a DCF Licensed Program (C20LE0066), maintaining 100% on all quarterly inspections and offers a fun and safe environment to children year after year. This Youth Center Sunrisers program allows for children to engage in exciting activi ties from the large playground to group 4 square tournaments, as well as creative arts and crafts to take home. This program is de signed to provide assistance to families whos children attend Mid Cape Global Academy Charter School and are needing childcare assistance before school start time. If your child attends another school, you may sign your child up if you provide your own form of private transportation to school from the Youth Center. Participants will engage in recreational activities, arts and crafts, interact with a guest speaker, and much more! Be sure to pack a lunch, snacks, and a refillable water bottle. The Youth Center will be closing at 3:00pm on Thursday, December 31st. The Youth Center will be closed on Friday, January 1st in observance of the new year. This hands on camp will teach the kids how to identify local saltwater fish species, tie basic fishing knots, and properly use a fishing reel to cast live or artificial baits that attract fish. Children will also learn about the importance of fishing conservation and how it helps protect fish species and preserve our water environments. Bring sunscreen, closed toe shoes, and a good attitude. We will meet from 9:00am-11:00am. Drop-off is at 8:45am. Pick-up is no later than 11:00pm. This afterschool program allows for children to engage in exciting outdoor activities from the large playground to group kickball tournaments, as well as creative arts and crafts to take home, and homework assistance from counselors as needed. Parent’s and guardians should pack their child a snack for aftercare daily. The Youth Center does not provide transportation services.
